While we could have reused the existing 10+ year-old LiftMaster 2280R belt-drive opener, the homeowners decided to upgrade to a more modern, quieter solution. Like many older garages in Scottsdale, this install came with some unique spatial challenges. Custom-built shelving flanked both sides of the garage door opening, leaving very little wiggle room. Our expert installer Dean had to maneuver over and under the shelving units to get the job done. Despite the tight conditions, Dean and company owner Justin removed the aging wood garage door and replaced it with the insulated steel model without a hitch. The stacked glass allowed in plenty of light, which made the job easier even in the enclosed space.
Another detail we took extra care with was the garage door perimeter seal and trim. The door bucks were recessed about a quarter inch from the stucco finish, which meant that standard installation of the perimeter seal would have left it angled awkwardly inward. Most garage door companies wouldn’t bother correcting this, but our team carefully shimmed the seal out and made sure it sat perfectly square to the door. We also caulked the trim neatly into place for a clean, finished look—just one of the small touches that separates Swiftly Garage Doors from the rest.
With a fast motor swap, full cleanup, and a tight project timeline between guest check-ins, we completed the garage door replacement in a single day. The results?
